Add SEO preview information to a form

Customize how your form appears when shared on social media or messaging apps by editing its title, description, favicon and preview image using SEO meta settings.

How it works

Go to your form settings and click on SEO tab. Here you edit the title, description, favicon and preview image that appear in social previews for your form.

Title

By default, this will be the name of your formware. You can edit it here.

Description

This is where you edit the text description that will be displayed as the preview text in search result pages, social media sites, and messenger applications. This field is empty by default.

Preview Image

Info

Adding a Favicon and Preview Image is a Formware Pro feature.

Here you can add and customize the favicon and thumbnail preview image that you want to appear when your formware gets shared on social media sites or messenger applications (WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Slack, etc.). You can remove or change this image later on.

Tip

There are no rules for dimensions of the preview image, but we can recommend you use landscape images of 1200 x 630 pixels, or 1200 x 1200 pixels for square images.

For favicon, Recommended size is 60 x 60, ideally a .png file.

Meta Information Not Updating After Editing?

If you've updated your formware's meta information (title, description, favicon or preview image) after sharing the link, you may notice that the new details aren’t showing up right away on platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, LINE, or WhatsApp. This is usually due to caching behavior.

Why This Happens

  • Cached Previews: Social media and messaging apps often cache link previews to improve loading speed. As a result, they may continue showing outdated titles, descriptions, or images until their cache refreshes.
  • Image Limitations: WhatsApp won’t display your Preview image if it's larger than 300 KB. Make sure your image is compressed or resized below this limit.

What You Can Do

  • Be patient: Most platforms update cached previews automatically over time.
  • Duplicate your formware: Create a copy of the form, update the meta information, and share the new link to bypass cached previews.
  • Clear app cache manually: On apps like WhatsApp, go to the app settings and clear the cache to force an update.
  • Use debugging tools: For LinkedIn, use the LinkedIn Post Inspector for optimizing content and debugging issues.
